Bonnie Palmiter
Cohocton Town AssessorMy name is Bonnie Palmiter. I am running for the Cohocton Town Assessor position as an Independent. I have lived in Cohocton for 28 years. My husband built his first house in Cohocton 34 years ago, in 1992 as our family grew, we moved up on Wagner Gully Rd. where we bought an old farm house to raise our three children. I am a Special Educator of 19 years at Bath High School. I head up the Learning Center for grades 9-12; it is a very rewarding position. I have been a Volleyball Assistant Coach, Color Guard Instructor and a Volunteer for AIM in Corning. Some may recognize me from Carey's Grocery, where I was a cashier evenings a few years ago. Now that my children are grown and leading their own lives I would like the opportunity to get into working for the Town of Cohocton. With so many elected positions open, I am seizing this opportunity to run in this election as assessor. My goal is to be fair to every property owner and listen to their concerns. I work very well with people and feel teamwork is the key to this position with two other assessors on board. With the 100% assessment we have many questions to answer to the public, with the help of fellow assessors I feel I can pick up and work beside them. I promise to follow what the State and County requirements are and if I don't know the answers to questions taxpayers have I will find them. I would appreciate your vote November 6th so I can join the team of Cohocton Assessors and work hard to maintain Fair and Equitable Assessments for every tax payer.
